That is one of the findings from a report by Netpop, a research firm. Approximately 105 million Americans with broadband internet access are said to regularly contribute to social media sites. But apparently only 29% regularly contribute to social networks. This is interesting, as sites such as Facebook and MySpace enjoy a far wider spread [...]

Three fellow students and I have recently launched a new website. It’s called Interactive Media Rejects and it’s part of our final year Interactive Media Strategies unit. We have to demonstrate our ability to understand and use various types of interactive media, so what better way to do this then starting our own blog?

I haven’t blogged much lately. In large part this is due to the fact that I have recently moved across the cannal again and am currently residing in Bournemouth, UK. Yes, that’s right - I’m back at university!
Whilst university tasks and another project eat into my time, using that as an excuse for not blogging [...]

I had a serious case of mixed feelings when I first saw this report. Before telling you why I’ll explain what the report is about first.

Mike doesn’t just study Youtube, he gets it. And he’s got several million video views to prove it. If [...]

Earlier I wrote how Inc. 500 companies are starting to embrace social media and I fleetingly mentioned how they are outpacing the Fortune 500 companies in the adoption stakes.
A study by Burson-Marsteller, a global PR firm, has revealed that 15% of the Fortune 500 companies currently manage a blog. Most of them operate in the [...]

Universal McCann, a global media agency, has being doing worldwide research on the impact of social media since September 2006. Recently, the third installment, or Wave 3 as they call it, was published online.
Seventeen thousand internet users from 29 different countries were surveyed in March 2008 and the findings of the research are in the [...]

According to research conducted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research the Inc. 500 companies are quick to embrace social media. In fact, the study indicated these companies adopt social media into their marketing strategies far quicker than the Fortune 500 businesses.
But first things first, what exactly are Inc. 500 companies - [...]
