No CommentAre you sick and tired of having to sit through bad (Powerpoint) presentations?
Thankfully I haven’t come across too many at work yet, but we’ve had some stinkers at university. The worst one was probably where they have everything they said on the slides, but were still lost for words!
It has been suggested, but don’t shoot them. At least not as first option. There are other ways
Seth Godin wrote an Ebook about it. It’s been around for a while, but I only recently came across it. Plus, I found some excellent back up material in case Seth’s work isn’t enough. It’s an excellent guidebook for anyone wondering why people switch off 2 minutes into their presentation. It’s probably because it’s crap. Seth tells you why it’s crap and how to improve it.
Through the power of comedy Don McMillan absolutely annihilates bad presentations, so stick it on at work and see how people react. This is also preferred to shooting people.
And to make sure they have learned the lesson, bring along one of these toys to the next meeting. And DON’T be afraid to use it!
